Spectator Information

We love that you want to support a runner at the Margarita Half Marathon & 5K! If you plan on spectating at the 2024 Margarita Half Marathon & 5K we kindly ask that you review the information below to make your race day go as smooth as possible.

Parking: There is NO parking available at the finish area or surrounding businesses near the finish line. Vehicular access to Portsmouth Avenue near the finish line will be extremely limited so please do not plan on driving to the finish area! All spectator cars should be parked at the Lowe’s/Target parking lot where the race begins. We highly suggest spectators and participants carpool to the event as we anticipate the lot filling up on race morning.

Spectator Shuttles To The Finish Line: Shuttles will begin taking spectators from the start line parking lot to the finish area at approximately 7:30 AM. Shuttles will drop all spectators approximately ¼ mile away from the finish area at the Greenland Veteran’s Association parking lot. Spectators will then walk to the finish area along Portsmouth Avenue using these walking directions. Shuttles will run continuously on race morning between the start and finish areas.

Walking To The Finish Line: Not interest in taking a shuttle to the finish line? No problem! It is a short ½ mile walk between the start line parking lot and finish area. Simply follow the walking directions to make your way from the start area to the finish area. We ask that you please DO NOT walk on Greenland Road (Route 33) as it is not safe for pedestrian foot traffic and follow the walked directions linked above!

Spectator Areas

We encourage friends and family to come and support their favorite runners on race day! Spectators can choose from the following options:

1. Park at the Lowe’s / Target parking lot before the race begins and use the continuous shuttle service on race morning. This option will allow you to watch the start of both the half marathon & 5K before taking the shuttle to the finish line.

2. Park at the Lowe’s / Target parking lot before the race begins and spectate near the start of the race then walk to the finish area! Spectators can watch the beginning and end of each race on Portsmouth Avenue or Newington Road as runners begin and finish their race.

3. Park at the Lowe’s / Target parking lot and watch the race start. Once the race starts, you can drive to approximately mile 7 on the half marathon course and watch your favorite runner hit the halfway point! Parking near mile 7 on the half marathon course will be available at the Newington Public School (133 Nimble Hill Rd, Newington, NH 03801). You WILL NOT be able to drive along the course and you MUST follow the driving directions. These directions will bypass the runner route and take you to the appropriate parking lot near mile 7! The drive to mile 7 on the half marathon course is approximately 10 minutes from the start line.

4. Park at the Lowe’s / Target parking lot and watch the race start. Bring your favorite bike and cycle around the course to different areas. If you pick this option, we ask that you please be respectful of all runners and vehicular traffic on course. You can follow the interactive google map linked above to see where you are located on course!
